Role and Responsibilities

  • Successfully transitioned from AWS EC2 Classic to VPC (Virtual Private Cloud) instances, enhancing network security, scalability, and isolation for both staging and production environments. This migration involved meticulous planning and execution to minimize downtime and ensure a seamless transition for all applications hosted on the instances.
  • Resolved issues with the existing deployment script by leveraging the Mina gem, which streamlined and optimized the deployment process. Additionally, migrated the application server from Passenger to Puma, significantly improving performance, concurrency handling, and resource efficiency, particularly under high traffic conditions.
  • Ensure the translation of the homepage (including the header and footer), blog index, privacy policy, cookies, and terms pages.
  • Identified and resolved critical issues in the Ruby on Rails RESTful APIs that were impacting the mobile application’s functionality. The fixes involved debugging, refactoring, and optimizing the API endpoints to improve response times, ensure data integrity, and enhance overall app performance. These improvements directly contributed to a smoother and more reliable user experience on the mobile platform.
